Abstract

Teachers, parents, and stakeholders debate homework's role in learning. Some argue it burdens students, reducing social skills development and exacerbating disparities, while others believe it reinforces classroom learning. Homework's effectiveness varies by time, grade level, individualization, and subject. Older students benefit more, but excessive homework can be counterproductive. The study used a mixed-method design, integrating quantitative and qualitative data, to explore homework's impact. Data collection included questionnaires, interviews, and student homework sheets. Two teachers from MTS Sabilil Khoir Porong participated. Results showed 65% affirmative responses, with one teacher supporting homework's positive impact and the other expressing reservations. Teachers emphasized creating engaging homework, utilizing technology, and balancing assignments to support students' learning. Teachers believe homework acts as a valuable tool for providing students with additional time to grasp lessons. They use worksheets and today's technological advancements, such as Canva and social media platforms, to create engaging homework. These strategies aim to enhance students' enthusiasm and improve their learning outcomes.
