Abstract

Tenses are changes in the form of verbs based on information about time and the nature of activities or events. Tenses are divided into four types: present, past, future, and past future. The four groups are then divided into 16 tenses. Tenses are verb forms that indicate time, used to convey when an event occurs or someone does something. Tenses are a fundamental part of the English language. They help in the following ways: to describe things that happen at different times—past, present, and future; to build complex sentence structures; and to convey complex ideas. Tenses are an important feature in writing and speaking in English. Tenses indicate the time of an event, that is, when something happens. Correct use of tenses is very important in academic writing. Tenses must be consistent or your readers will be confused. English songs can be one way to learn tenses. Tenses function as small time markers associated with verbs. Tenses can help us navigate to the desired moment, like a timestamp Tenses are one of the most important factors in learning English. Tenses can distinguish the intent and meaning of a sentence. English has 16 tenses that have different functions and meanings. Understanding tenses will minimize misunderstandings.
